i have a Fine Arts training and degree in Graphic Design from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, South Africa. I studied watercolor painting with the late Kaji Aso in Boston. I am a professional singer as well as an artist, and I combine my creative expression in both music and the visual arts.


I am inspired by the colors, textures and minute details in nature and in everyday things around us. My watercolor subjects are drawn from my natural environment – flowers, leaves, the night sky… I am fascinated by the amazing contrasts of the changing seasons in New England, especially Cape Cod with its unique light, dunes, seascapes, woods and ponds. Images come alive for me when I “see” through the lens of my camera, and my photography reflects my fascination with finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. I love Thoreau’s credo that the universe is perfect in its details. For me, it is life and art that are in the details!


I create hand-made note cards from my watercolor paintings and photographs under the label of JINZART… art from the heart. My “Triad card” series combines photographic images, details from my watercolors, and words of inspiration or greeting. Cards are printed on beautiful quality Strathmore white card with embossed frame. They are available individually, and as packaged gift sets in clear boxes tied with a gold bow, or organza ribbon. 5" x 7" watercolor and photographic prints are matted for easy framing, and are presented with or without a frame.
