NOS Hosts it's First "Slow Art Day" Event

At Newton City Hall. For one day a year at this worldwide event, people visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. The organizer of each "Slow Art Day" venue curates a small group of artworks, and invites attendees to spend 5-10 minutes looking at each one, instead of the average of 15 seconds that studies show visitors usually spend in front of a piece of art. Then, the participants are invited to spend a little time together discussing the art (and noshing). Sign up!

Spring Juried Exhibit: PIVOT During Newton's Festival of the Arts!

At Newton City Hall, 2nd Floor Hallway. Join us May 25th for the reception at 5:30m!
NOS artists were asked to submit works that represent a new direction. The new direction might be an experiment, a conscious reinvention, or an accidental discovery. For each of these artists, this pivot has created fertile new ground for creativity. Conceived and Juried by Casey Curry, Manager of Exhibitions at the New Art Center.
